Hunting Guns
Supporting documents for the purchase of a Hunting Firearm
- Two small colored photos.
- Certificate from a Physician and a psychiatrist who will certify your mental and physical ability to buy a firearm.
- Payment of 2.04 euros issued by the following link using the code 6025.

In case of purchase by members of the armed forces and security forces or holders of a firearms license (sniper rifle or personal security license), a doctor's certificate is not required.
Also, a medical certificate and a copy of a criminal record are not required for the issuance of a license to purchase a hunting weapon, if the person concerned has been provided with a license to possess another hunting weapon and not more than three years have passed from the date of issuance of this license.
The possession permits are issued by the Security Directorate or the Police Directorate of the place of permanent residence of the interested party.
The granted licenses are considered by the Service that issued them every six (6) months.
The licenses are granted for three (3) years and are renewed at the request of the holder (interested party) to the competent Police Authority three (3) months before their expiration.
Shooting Guns
Through a Shooting Club, registered members can obtain a firearms license, which you will use exclusively for shooting practice.
In order for a shooter to acquire a firearm (pistol or rifle), he is required to have participated in 4 or 6 (depending on the caliber of the weapon) official shooting competitions during the last six months. Then, after selecting the weapon that he will buy and receive through the shooting club to which he belongs, the relevant approval - certificate of games from SK.O.E. submits to the competent Police Authority of his area, the application for approval of purchase and possession of a weapon. Once the purchase of the weapon is approved, the shooter in order to maintain the relevant license will have to participate in 8 official shooting competitions within a year.
Weapons possession and use licenses in Greece are determined on the basis of Law 2168/93 "Regulation of issues related to weapons, ammunition, explosives, explosive devices and other provisions" (AD - 147) as amended and supplemented by the provisions of article 4 of Law 2334/95 (AD-185), the Joint Ministerial Decision (JMC) 4325/93 (B'- 400) obligations of sports clubs, managers of shooting ranges and holders of shooting weapons, etc. provisions ", and JM 1016/60/6-δ΄ / ΦΕΚ 69/2003," Renewals of weapons licenses, etc. provisions ".

Category A': .22 caliber weapons, and Black Gun barrel
Category B': Striped firearms, using central firing cartridges.
In order to obtain a license to possess an A weapon, an interested party must have:
- Athlete - Sniper Card in force from SKOE
- To know the rules of the sport that will be practiced, and the rules of safe use and safekeeping of the weapon that will be procured.
- To have taken part in at least four (4) official competitions with striped firearms in the last six (6) months at least before submitting the application for a purchase-possession license for a striped firearm.
- The weapon that will be procured in accordance with the rules of the competition, which will be sported and based on factory specifications, suitable for training in the shooting competition.
- Possession of more than five (5) weapons in this category is not granted.
In order to obtain a license to possess an B weapon, an interested party must have:
- Athlete - Sniper Card in force from SKOE
- To know the rules of the sport that will be practiced, and the rules of safe use and safekeeping of the weapon that will be procured.
- To have taken part in at least six (6) official competitions with striped firearms in the last twelve (12) months at least before submitting the application for a purchase-possession license for a striped firearm.
- The weapon that will be procured in accordance with the rules of the competition, which will be sported and based on factory specifications, suitable for training in the shooting competition.
- Possession of more than two (2) weapons in this category is not granted.

Acquisition of a Shooting Range
It is time to improve our shooting ability legally. The law now allows us to buy a Red Dot sniper rifle and place it legally in our occupied firearm.
Prerequisites are: a) for a shotgun a hunting weapon license, a certificate of purchase of the aid from the weapons store and a certificate from SKOE that you are an active sniper and b) for a firearm (pistol or rifle) the holder the certificate of purchase of the aid from the arms dealer and the certificate from SKOE that you are an active registered sniper.
